Celebrate our 250th at the College’s first-ever Global Summit
Dartmouth will celebrate its 250th anniversary ’round the girdled Earth throughout 2019 and 2020.
The first stop is Europe: We are bringing the Green to London for the first-ever gathering of Dartmouth alumni, families, and friends from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa—topped off by an unforgettable gala in London’s historic Guildhall.
Please join us for an immersive weekend of interactive sessions with faculty and students, lively debates and open conversations about the most pressing issues of our time—from climate change to international security—and opportunities to connect with peers as we explore Dartmouth’s role in our global future. A special session will include representatives from undergraduate and Tuck admissions to walk families through the admissions and financial aid process.
Dartmouth at 250: The Global Summit will feature three days of programming from September 27 through 29. Highlights will include a discussion of Dartmouth’s strategic vision with President Philip J. Hanlon ’77 and other academic leaders and a reception in The Shard, the United Kingdom’s tallest building.
The Saturday evening gala in the medieval masterpiece that is Guildhall’s Great Hall will be a fitting exclamation point to a remarkable weekend.
Attendees will also have the chance to join faculty members in private visits to sights around London, from a backstage tour of the Globe Theatre, to a visit to the Cabinet War Rooms, to a behind-the-scenes look at the British Museum.
The summit, first in a series of four international events planned for late 2019 and early 2020, will highlight the College’s growing role on the global stage and the fact that its community members hail from—and make an impact in—all corners of the world.
“The international Dartmouth community is amazing,” says Chair of the Board of Trustees Laurel J. Richie ’81. “We’ve met with alumni and parents around the world seeking their thoughts and guidance on Dartmouth's strategic vision. They show up. They care. They share our high aspirations for Dartmouth.”
