Your support will fund a pilot program to launch the Institute for Black Intellectual and Cultural Life at Dartmouth College over the next four years. The institute will serve as a critical convener and nexus point for the creative, cultural, and scholarly expression of the Black community at Dartmouth, providing an important foundation for the entire Dartmouth community on topics relating to issues of race and Black culture.
The institute will advance important work on campus and far beyond by providing support for distinguished visitors, research projects, and scholarly and public programming, including opportunities to foster dialogue and community engagement on the impacts of anti-Black racism on students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds. Start-up funds will support the Institute’s planning and implementation over the first few years of development.
